About Dr. Paul Allan Magistretti
Dr. Paul A. Magistretti has written for all media and has taught writing,
literature, drama and film at several major universities, including UCLA
where he chaired the MFA playwriting program for several years. His work
has been produced on television and he has over fifty hours of prime time
credit , as well as many scripts which were commissioned for episodes,
pilots, movies of the week and mini-series. He has a B.A. in English
Literature from U.C., Berkeley, an M.A. in film from UCLA and a doctorate
in Dramatic Literature and Medieval Studies from Yale University (Doctor
of Fine Arts). He studied the accordion for ten years with several
teachers and also studied piano and theory with Robert Parr, a composer
who studied with Paul Hindemith. Dr. Magistretti currently resides in
Northern California and continues to write.
Regarding the photograph, Dr. Magistretti wrote, "My shaggy friend was
(alas) named DEMOS. He was a Hungarian Komondor, a big guy of 140 lbs.
Once when he stood up and put his paws on my shoulders he towered over me
at 7 feet. He was a good buddy and looking at our photo always makes me
smile."
