2008 Performances

February 14-15: Henry Doktorski performs the songs of Edith Piaf with contralto Daphne Alderson and quintet at Heinz Memorial Chapel on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during two Valentine's Day concerts on February 14 at 7 P.M. and February 15 at 8 P.M. February 22-24: Henry Doktorski performs accordion with the Pittsburgh Opera Theater Orchestra during four performances of Kurt Weill's Broadway musical Lost in the Stars. Performances are at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh's Cultural District. Dates and times are:

May 5: Henry Doktorski performs a world premiere by composer Andy Rindfleisch with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony in Cleveland, Ohio.

August 15: Henry Doktorski conducts Alcoa Singers performance of the National Anthem for Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game at PNC Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

November 9-14: Henry Doktorski appears as artist-in-residence for one week and performs as guest accordionist with the Ames Iowa High School Orchestra on Friday, November 14, directed by Mary Kay Polashek. Program:

December 1-17: Henry Doktorski conducts Alcoa Singers in 9 lunch-time Christmas concerts at Saint Ambrose Manor, Fifth Avenue Place, Miriam's Womens' Shelter, PPG Food Court, Martin Luther King Elementary School, Alcoa Corporate Center, and other venues in downtown Pittsburgh.

December 24: Gala Christmas Eve Concert, Carol Sing and Worship Service with choir, organ, handbells and musicians at Grace Lutheran Church, Rochester, Pennsylvania.


2007 Performances

March 2, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Henry Doktorski presents a Lecture/Recital titled "The Brothers Deiro: Virtuoso Vaudeville Accordionists of the Early Twentieth Century" for the Joint Conference of The Society for American Music and the Music Library Association held at the Pittsburgh Hilton and Towers.

March 25: Indianapolis, Indiana: Henry Doktorski assists his student Joan Gilyeat Moyer in a recital to commemorate her 75th birthday.

April 5, 6, 8: Rochester, Pennsylvania: Doktorski performs as organist with Grace Lutheran Church Choir and Orchestra for services Maundy Thursday, Stations of the Cross, and Easter Sunday.

April 21: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Doktorski performs as guest organist at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Shadyside.

April 25: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Henry Doktorski performs with contralto Daphne Alderson and quintet at Heinz Chapel on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh.

May 1 & 3: Doktorski performs Hindemith's Kammermusik No. 1 with the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic in performances at Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and at Severance Hall in Cleveland Ohio.

June 2 & 3: Doktorski performs with contralto Daphne Alderson and trio at Lincoln Hall in Foxburg, Pennsylvania.

August 16: Doktorski presents a lecture/recital titled "The Lives and Music of Guido and Pietro Deiro" during the 60th annual Coupe Mondiale in Alexandria, Virginia. His workshop will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Madison Room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

September 16: Doktorski performs music of Guido and Pietro Deiro at A World of Accordions Museum and Recital Hall in Superior, Wisconsin.

September 25: Solo recital for meeting of Pittsburgh Symphony South, 1:30 p.m.

October 14: Solo Recital at the Henry Clay Frick Auditorium, University of Pittsburgh Fine Arts Building, sponsored by the Polish Cultural Council. 3:00 p.m. concert followed by "Meet the Artist" reception.

December 6 and 7: Accordion soloist with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra at the Star Plaza Theater, Merrillville, Indiana, and the Raue Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

December 1-18: Henry Doktorski conducts 10 Christmas concerts presented by the Alcoa Singers.

December 24: Gala Christmas Concert, Carol Sing and Worship Service with choir, organ, handbells and musicians at Grace Lutheran Church, Rochester, Pennsylvania.


2006 Performances

January 25: Accordion soloist in recital at Seminole Community College (Oviedo Campus) at 2205 Lockwood Blvd., Oviedo, Florida. 7 p.m.

March 4-5: Featured guest artist, lecturer and evaluator for the American Accordion Musicological Society Annual Convention and Competition at the Wyndham Valley Forge hotel in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Doktorski was the featured performer at the 7:30 p.m. Saturday night concert, and presented a lecture Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on the lives and music of the two Deiro brothers, Guido and Pietro.

May 6: Accordionist with the Pittsburgh Live Chamber Orchestra in a performance of Step--a tango for chamber orchestra--by Jeremy Sment under conductor Jeffrey Turner at Synod Hall 8 p.m.

July 16-30: Accordion instructor for the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival in Fairbanks, Alaska.

July 29: Doktorski performed as guest accordion soloist with the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Astor Piazzolla's Adios Nonino under the direction of conductor Russell Guyver.

August 24: Conducts Alcoa Singers in performance of National Anthem for Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Game at PNC Park.

September 16: Featured Guest Artist at the Wilmington Delaware Accordion Festival.

November 12: Guest Soloist with City Music Center Chamber Orchestra playing music of Astor Piazzolla at PNC Recital Hall at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

December 15-22: Concerts with Alcoa Singers, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

February 27: Accordionist with Duquesne University Contemporary Ensemble playing Joseph Had A Little Overcoat by David Stock at Temple Sinai, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

April 3: Solo accordion recital, performing original compositions by Guido and Pietro Deiro at the World of Accordions Museum in Superior, Wisconsin.

April 8, 9, 10: Accordionist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in Tango by Arturs Maskats, Heinz Hall, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

July 10: Doktorski conducts Alcoa Singers singing National Anthem for Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game at PNC Park, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
