Henry’s CD A Classical Christmas still broadcast on radio, 30 years after its release
December 2023: Henry’s 1993 compact disc, A Classical Christmas, is still broadcast on air by classical radio stations, 30 years after its premier.
Henry said: “I’m pleased that Northwest Radio of the State of Washington broadcast my composition Dance of the Shepherds between compositions by two esteemed composers: Tchaikovsky and Gian Carlo Menotti! And Baltimore Maryland listeners heard my performance of Willard A. Palmer’s Sonatina on Three Christmas Carols, along with music by J. S. Bach, Jean Sibelius, Luigi Cherubini and Ralph Vaughan Williams. I’m in truly fine company, in my opinion. My Suite on Four Polish Carols, Dance of the Angels and Prelude and Toccata on IN DULCI JUBILO by J. S. Bach also appear to be favorites.”
Henry continued, “Who knows how many other radio stations broadcast tracks from my Christmas CD? In 1993 I mailed out 400 copies to classical radio stations in the U. S. and Cananda. Today, I can only tell if they’re playing my music if the stations put their broadcast logs online, such as Northwest Radio and WBJC in Balitomore.”
