Hank is the original Mr. Home Improvement: he has a mechanical mind and can fix almost anything. He is a remarkably-talented designer and builder, having built (or helped build) three houses during his life: his parents two-story home at 229 South Main Street, Milltown, New Jersey, his own ranch-home at 416 Riva Avenue, East Brunswick, New Jersey, and his final house at 13 Hillcrest Avenue, East Brunswick. The last house—a two-story residence for his family—was constructed entirely by himself (over a span of several years) during his spare time, with some assistance from his wife and children during summer vacations.
The only work which was contracted was the excavation of the basement. Hank did everything else himself, including:
Brick laying and masonry
Carpentry
Installing aluminum siding
Plastering
Roofing
Installing hardwood floors
Kitchen tiling
Installing stone fireplace
Constructing kitchen cabinets from scratch
